Introducing our newest author: Leonard Finkelman

We are excited to welcome Leonard Finkelman as the newest author to join the Rationally Speaking blog!  Leonard studies philosophy at the City University of New York Graduate Center and evolutionary biology at Columbia University’s School of Continuing Education. He has taught philosophy for the CUNY system since 2004 and published several essays in the Pop Culture and Philosophy series of books (check his "All for One and One for All" in Green Lantern and Philosophy: No Evil Shall Escape this Book).

A lifelong love of dinosaurs eventually led Leonard to study evolution; his research interests now lie primarily in the history, theory, and practice of taxonomy, as well as the pedagogies of philosophy and science. He enjoys the study of ethics, possible-world semantics, theories of identity, and (when free time permits) astronomy.

While completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia, Leonard swore an oath to include references to Tyrannosaurus rex whenever possible in his work. You have been forewarned.

Leonard's first post, on love, will appear in time for Valentine's Day. Stay tuned...

  1. Well, I must say: Leonard looks awfully skeptical. #;-)

  2. I'm dating myself, but did Green Lantern and the Flash ever resolve their differences? I'm just curious.

  3. I don't know if I can trust a guy whose picture won't look me in the eye! ;-)

  4. It looks like Leonard is sitting in the museum and thinks he saw the T-Rex over there move, just to bug him! "You can't be serious?" he's thinking.

Hi Leonard, I believe you. :)
